Happy Thanksgiving!

It's been a while...Anna and I had a very busy summer and fall. I did a lot of traveling to various shows to promote She Said It and Anna is deep into her second year at Berkeley.

Writing this blog post is a quick break for me from prepping for Thanksgiving. We have a small group coming. We will be just 6 here in Wisconsin, and Anna is hosting her first Thanksgiving in Berkeley. But as you all know, it doesn't matter the size of party, it's a job. I'm happy to do it, but I read a cute article yesterday stating that getting invited for Thanksgiving dinner is a golden ticket. And, I kind of agree...so maybe next year, we'll crash Anna's dinner in Berkeley...

Here's a little Thanksgiving trivia to share....

One of the ladies we quote is Sarah Josepha Hale. Her words, "Books are mentors of the heart" used on one of our cards (above) is a favorite with book-lovers. She also wrote "Mary Had a Little Lamb". But, did you know that we can also thank Sarah for our Thanksgiving Day? That's right, as editor of Godey's Lady's Book (beginning in 1837), she advocated for a national day of Thanksgiving for nearly 30 years. In 1863, Abraham Lincoln created our Thanksgiving Day due to her encouragement. I think it's fair to say that Sarah was an "Original Influencer".

Wishing you a wonderful and delicious Thanksgiving! Watch for some exciting additions coming soon to She Said It...

Kind regards,

Kathryn
